Badlands National Park Conservancy
Helping Preserve A National Treasure Of Our Nation
BRAND DESIGN
CREATIVE CAMPAIGN
Badlands National Park Conservancy is a non-profit raising funds and awareness to continue to support the efforts of preserving The Badlands National Park. Funds raised would continue to support trail maintenance, geological and paleontological research, a new visitor center to accommodate the growing number of visitors each year, and the construction of a new state-of-the-art observatory as a newly certified Dark Sky Park.
A professional proposal for board members was needed for fundraising efforts for meetings with high-level donors. Supporting event materials were also requested for public speaking events, fundraisers, and family-friendly meetups. Without any form of professional brand guidelines, we developed a rustic identity to match the rugged beauty of the Badlands that enhanced the imagery of the landscape’s orange hues and vibrant skies.
As the conservancy saw the need to also reach a younger audience of kids due to the amount of family trips observed to the Badlands, brand awareness projects were also created revolving around kids, including a mural, a customized donor box, and a kid’s activity brochure.

To support the fundraising efforts led by the Executive Director and key Board Members, a professional proposal booklet was needed to present the initiative to prospect donors.
The proposal booklet served to identify the significance of The Badlands, while providing an overview of key briefs and projects that donor funding would help support. Visual impact was key, with every page carefully designed to tell a story to match the copyrighting.
The booklet was completely customized and housed within a pocketed folder to hold staggered flyers that could be easily updated for their needs, hold business cards, and other handouts as needed.
For an impactful experience, the Conservancy’s logo was printed with a raised UV gloss finish on the front of the folder booklet.

Community Events
Public speaking and fundraising events is another important way for the Conservancy to spread awareness of their mission.
Marketing materials were requested to support this need, from creating social media ad campaigns to printed programs, and even direct mailing.

For The Kids
The Executive Director requested to create visuals that would catch the eye of a younger audience.
A mural was designed and installed at the Ben Reifel Visitor Center to honor high-impact donors: those who gave from $5,000 to over $100,000. A second mural was created and installed at a second entrance of the center.
For use at the Visitor Center as well as other family-friendly events, a kid’s activity brochure was also designed.
In addition to that, a customized donor box designed in the shape of a buffalo was created — it’s the only buffalo that you can approach!
